In Mundaneum a book is followed through the public library system of Denmark; from it’s registration in the Bibliographic Centre in the outskirts of Copenhagen, it’s circulation between different provincial library branches, it’s idleness in a closed depot, and finally to the recycling centre as it is discarded. Mundaneum was made as part of my participation in the Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen program for art in Public space, at Funen Art Academy in Odense. The work was shown in the Central Public Library of Odense in several formats during the summer of 2024: In film screenings in the library’s music department, and as shorter video loops shown on the library’s own information screens throughout the building, as well as digitally through the website of Odense Libraries.
